About us
Our Story
We started Tech Thursday in Winnipeg in June of 2022. When we started, five or ten people came every week. Then, slowly, our audience grew through word-of-mouth without any marketing spend. Now in Winnipeg, we get ~100 people out to our events every single week.
In June of 2023, we launched our events in Calgary. We had identified that there lacked a space for senior members of the tech community to come together and learn from each other. If we wanted to create a world-class tech ecosystem, we would have to create that space.
Since our first event, we've hosted ~175 events in Western Canada and have welcomed 20,000+ attendees to our events.
Our Mission
Tech Thursday exists to transform innovation and productivity in Canada. We unite the boldest thinkers, builders, and leaders to spark ideas, forge connections, and build what’s next. Our mission is simple: leverage local talent into global impact—and make Canadian tech unstoppable.
Our events attract senior members of the tech ecosystem. Of our 20,000+ attendees, 63% are senior executives (Managers, Directors, Founders, and C-Suite), while 37% are mid to entry level.
Most of our attendees work in the technology industry but we also have significant representation from Banking, Oil & Gas, and Telecom.
